Top left shows new half edging wood fitted to the upper bouts including top block, and two thirds of the lower bouts/bottom block. The edges were too thin from previous repairers removing the belly for repairs sanding back the surface to make good for regluing. Above left the main strut which the Soundpost stands on has been removed because cracks in the back ran under the strut. In this image one of the cracks is being glued showing small clamps / block and wedges used to close the crack. Above right the bass is now ready for fitting back the belly. Nearly all rib cracks can be repaired without taking off the belly but it is necessary to remove the front for back and belly repairs. Back to repairs
