This beautiful old English cello had a catastrophic encounter with a ball pain hammer Resulting in about 20 cracks to the lower bass side rib. The amateur repairs done very badly using three different types of glue and none bing the correct type makes for a very difficult repair. The original rib was a little too thin so the best way to preserve the character and history of this cello was to do a rib doubling. Above you can see my new rib doubling including new linings and Left the finished and varnish retouched repair.
