The soundpost has come through the belly and a full length crack on the bass side which runs through the purfling. I made this instrument almost twenty years ago and this is the first time I have had to do major repairs on an instrument made by me. The belly has to come off for this one and a through patch made where the soundpost came through. The through patch is best aesthetically. Firstly I will glue up all the cracks, then make a plaster cast of the belly this serves as a support for all other repairs. The through patch will be fitted and half edging repair in the C bout. Cleaths or studs fitted along the crack. The back escaped any damage.
